The Tooth Extraction Process

At Allen Dental Lounge, tooth extractions are typically quick, with the most important part of the process being the recovery. After the extraction, we stop bleeding by having you bite down on a gauze pad for 30 to 45 minutes to help form a blood clot. It is crucial to avoid disturbing the clot during the first 24 hours to ensure proper healing.

To reduce swelling, you can apply an ice pack to the outer cheek. Once the swelling goes down, a warm compress can be used for added comfort. Rinsing gently with salt water can also help keep the extraction site clean.
